Northern Petroleum is set to kick off one 2D and two 3D seis-mic surveys before the end of 2011 on its Southern Adriatic permits.The surveys will cover the two large potential structures as well as the Rovesti and Giove discoveries.Northern chairman Richard Latham said: "Core to our Italian ventures is the high potential of the proven Durres oil and gas basin in the Southern Adriatic Sea. Our first seismic surveys in the area are scheduled before the end of 2011."The surveys, prior to drilling, will better define not only the Rovesti andGiove oil discoveries (53m bbl of oil probable reserves inde-pendently attributed), but also the two larger potential struc-tures mapped from much older surveys.
