For decades, electricity consumption in the UK has been increasing and currently it accounts for around 20 per cent of total energy consumption. There are many options for sustainability professionals to choose in order to reduce overall consumption, energy bills and CO_2 emissions such as investing in renewables, improving the efficiency of the building fabric and changing occupant behaviours. LED lighting, however, stands out as one of the simplest and quickest ways of taking a significant step towards achieving a buildings energy efficiency targets.
