Japan's JX Nippon Oil and Gas Exploration has signed a deal with Italy's Eni to buy the latter's non-operated oil and gas assets in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). Shigeo Hirai, president and CEO of JX Nippon, said: "This is an important contribution to JX's upstream goal of global production of 200,000 boe/d by 2020. The acquisition of these assets gives JX substantial long term oil and gas production in the UK where JX has built up considerable expertise over the past twenty years."
