Det norske oljeselskap, operator of the Ivar Aasen field offshore Norway, has completed the drilling of appraisal wells 16/1-22 S, 16/1-22 A and 16/1-22 B. The Ivar Aasen field is located in the central Norwegian North Sea and was proven in 2008. "The size of the field prior to drilling the appraisal wells was 24 MMcm of recoverable oil, 1 MMcm of recoverable condensate and 4.5 Bern (158.9 Bcf) of recoverable gas," said the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).
