World's largest single-screw extruder-again

Berstorff has matched the record that it set in 2001 for the world's biggest single screw extruder with an order from Huntsman for an 800mm giant to be employed at the company's new Wilton plant in the UK.The company will supply a KE800xl2D plant for Huntsman's new 400,000 tonnes/year LDPE unit on Teesside.Its role will be the incorporation of basic additives into the LDPE melt as well as subsequent peDetising of the polymer.In addition to the single screw unit,Berstorff will also deliver a masterbatch single screw extruder and an underwater pelletiser.
