LPKF shows the latest version of its Twin Weld hybrid welding system for plastics, which uses a combination of a laser with a localised thermal field to broaden the process window and increase welding speeds. According to the company, this hybrid technique means that no post weld tempering is required. This means that the complex clamping jigs usually required for laser welding can be replaced with a relatively simple component holding system.
