The process of consolidation in the European plastics production sector has accelerated greatly since K2004.Merger&acquisition activity has been fuelled largely by the desire to achieve economies of scale and more bargaining power against converters.In addition,companies are ever more prepared to divest their under-performing assets and redirect their strategic focus in favour of businesses that have a distinct competitive advantage.
