On 29 April,the new Airbus A380 made its maiden flight from Toulouse in France.The new aircraft derives much of its performance from the widespread use of reinforced plastics composites.GKN Aerospace in the UK developed a cost-saving Resin Film Infusion (RFI) manufacturing system while working on contracts for composite assemblies for the A380.
