Cost savings in EMI shielding

Stainless steel fibre-filled compound can save up to 40% in total costs for EMI/RFI shielded plastic housings,according to compounder RTP.Andreas Lucke,managing director f RTP Deutschland,explained how an ABS housing with a specified 40dB shielding level could be produced in plated plastic,or with two of RTP's ABS compounds:EMI 661,with 10% stainless steel fibre reinforcement;and EMi 682 with 15% nickel coated carbon fibre.
