Producers forced to make concessions as costs fall

Polymer suppliers wanted to hang onto as much of the feedstock cost reduction as possible in April to improve their under-pressure margins. They were, however, forced to acknowledge early on they would have to share a sizeable portion of the cost reduction with converters. Demand wasn't much better in April and there was more than enough material available. Imports were also playing a more prominent role in some sectors.
