Gerresheimer launches high barrier COP vials

Packaging group Gerresheimer has created a new type of high barrier vial for medical applications by layering cyclic olefin polymer (COP) wiuh polyamide. The company says COP is ideal for medical applications such as cytostatic and biophar-maceutics as it is thermally and mechanically durable, has a low propensity to protein absorption, and provides a high performance oxygen barrier.
