Robot gets to grips with PVC floor tiles

Ecotile, a UK-based manufacturer of polymer floor tiles, has automated its manufacturing process using a Fanuc Robotics robot and two Sumitomo Demag injection moulding machines. UK firm Hi-Tech Automation supplied a Fanuc M710iC robot to handle mouldings from machine to pallet. The gripper design was crucial as the robot has to handle PVC tiles at 63°C when ejected from the moulding machine tool.
