German stationery equipment maker Ritter-Pen is using two new bio-based transparent polymer compounds developed by FKuR to injection mould the bodies of its Kolibri and Bio-Pen 9200 models.The company is using FKuR's 100% bio-derived Biograde C7500 CL grade of ceEulose acetate to produce around 80% of the Kolibri pen and the 60% bio-derived C9550 cellulose acetate compound for the Bio-Pen;ABS is still used for the frosted internal mechanism and sleeve to ensure effective operation.
