Smart goes emission-free in Geneva

At this year's 2011 Geneva Auto show, Smart exhibited its For-speed concept car - an emission-free electric vehicle which can accelerate to speeds of near 60kph in 5.5 seconds. The electric powertrain comprises a a 40-hp motor which draws power from a Ethium-ion battery pack The battery pack is rechargeable via 220v AC outlets or high-discharge commercial outlets. Using quick charging, the battery can be recharged to 80% in a mere forty-five minutes, says Smart.
