New PLA unit starts up

Futerro, a PLA JV established in 2007 by Total Petrochemicals and Galactic, has started up a demonstration unit in Escanaffies Belgium. The new unit has a capacity of 1,500 tonnes per annum. Over the next six months. It will trial different technologies for producing PLA bioplastics from renewable vegetable feedstocks.
