Lanxess expands Tepex thermoplastic composites

The Bond Laminates subsidiary of Lanxess in Germany has developed halogen-free flame-re-tardant versions of its Tepex range of continuous-fibre-reinforced thermoplastic composites. The Tepex FR grades, which have a polycarbonate matrix, showed "exceptionally high" flame retardance in tests to fire safety standard UL 94, said Lanxess. In tests, they achieved the top V0 classification on UL's Yellow Card at specimen thicknesses between 0.4 and 2 mm.
