It is 36 years since ICI developed a commercial version of the thermoplastic polyetheretherke-tone (Peek). When the industry gathers at the K 2013 trade fair in Germany in October, no-one will be unveiling a compound as revolutionary as Peek. But the European plastics sector is anything but static.
