Barrier film keeps meat looking fresher, longer

PACKAGING A. van den Broek, the Dutch manufacturer of Hibassk high-barrier film, is using a sealant layer made of DuPont Surlyn ionomer to ensure that vacuum-skin packed meat retains its red colour, is preserved for longer and doesn't emit the typical odour associated with conventional nylon-polyethylene film packaging.
