We agree with the editorial comment that the absence of local recurrence is a surrogate indicator of good surgical technique [1]. The data on the cohort of patients reported in this study [2] were collected prospectively, and hence the series has been described as prospective, contrary to what Bochner suggested [1]. Whether prospectively collected data reported few years later should be regarded as retrospective is debatable.
