摘要

We read the interesting editorial, "To Infinity and Beyond: The Robotic Toy Story" [1], and agree with the authors regarding their assessment of robotic partial nephrectomy. However, we feel that the context and the points that were conveyed regarding robot-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy (RALP) need to be better qualified. The reasons noted for the robotics revolution are the undisputed precision of the robot and the shorter learning curves. Forceful marketing and the affinity of surgeons for gadgets have also been noted as reasons. We believe that there are more substantial reasons for the "revolution."
