Ten Misconceptions Regarding Cryotherapy for Prostate Cancer

Langenhuijsen et al conclude that prostate cryotherapy (PC) is "reliable and results are promising with minimal morbidity" in this issue of European Urology . The authors provide a fair summary of the limited but rapidly growing literature and appropriately call for randomized trials and long-term data.As one of the most vocal early critics of cryotherapy but now an experienced cryosurgeon, I would like to add the observation of 10 common misconceptions regarding cryotherapy.
