Setting aside grass for late grazing is halving the winter rearing costs of replacement heifers at a Welshdairy farm.The Jenkins family conserves off-lying land from mid-August to build covers to graze 127 spring-bom New Zealand Friesian calves.Using this approach of deferred grazing is a means of extending the grazing period by up to two months.
