Orion Engineered Carbons stops production at Portuguese plant

Frankfurt, Germany-Following a review of its European carbon black operations, Orion Engineered Carbons stopped production at its Sines, Portugal facility at the end of 2013 affecting about 36 of the 40 positions. The shutdown took place while investments were made in the company's other plants. The restructuring investments "increased manufacturing efficiencies in response to volatile raw material and high energy costs".
