Cooper loses Apollo court battle

UNITED STATES: A US court has sided with Apollo Tyres Ltd. in a dispute relating to the Indian tire group's withdrawal from a deal to purchase Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. A judgement of Delaware Chancery Court dated 31 Oct ruled against Cooper in its bid for a $112-million breakup fee over Apollo's failure to complete the $2.5-billion buyout of the US tire maker.
