Turning over a new leaf

Although many of us do not know it. our everyday life is largely dependent on a tiny creature called leaf blight. This small insect can make or break life as we know it if it finds its way to Asia and destroys the rubber plantations. Approx-imately 40 percent of all rubber used is natural rubber from the rubber tree - Hevea Brasiliensis- and is currently growing mainly in Asia. So far our little friend has not been spotted in this important region but, arguably. it might be just a matter of time.
