1. The world's longest conveyor belt system runs over 100km from a Moroccan phosphate mine in the Western Sahara and can, reportedly, be seen from space. The belt can transfer 2,000 t/hr of rock from the Bou Craa mines to the port of El-Aaiun. 2. The longest conveyor belt without any additional drive along its path is conveying 1000 t/h of limestone from a mine located in India across the state border to a cement plant in Bangladesh, claims supplier Phoenix Conveyor Belt Systems GmbH. The single flight conveyor is 17km long, with 34,500m of 800mm-wide belting.
