Tokyo - The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., is to increase capacity for car and light truck tyres at its plant in Rayong Province, Thailand. The company said Yokohama Tire Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. will add capacity for 1.4 million tyres bringing total capacity to 4 million tyres annually. Yokohama expects to bring the new capacity on stream in April 2011, and it will make an investment of yuan 9.7 billion (euro 88 million).
