Tyres are not just black and round. Some tyres offer better grip in the wet, others offer longer life and still others offer improved fuel economy. EU estimates put the potential average annual fuel savings between 2012-2020 at between 0.56 and 1.51 Mtoe (million tonnes oil equivalent), which exceeds the annual oil consumption of Latvia.
