Sumitomo to build tyre plant in Thailand

BANGKOK,THAILAND -SumitO-mo Rubber Industries Ltd is to build a passenger tyre plant in Thailand's Ray-ong Province that will become the company's largest operation at 7 million units a year.Groundbreaking in Rayong's Amata City Industrial Estate will take place in August,Sumitomo said,with production scheduled to start in January 2007.Sumitomo did not disclose its investment.Daily capacity will start at about 12 000 units and ramp up to 22 000 by 2010,Sumitomo said.
