Simultaneous Bilateral Tibial Tubercle Avulsion Fractures in a Boy with Osteogenesis Imperfecta

A 15-year-old boy with osteogenesis imper-fecta and traumatic simultaneous bilateral tibial tubercle avulsion fractures is presented. He suffered this injury when he was running after the bus. The patient's history, operative management, and follow-up are described. Open reduction and screw fixation were performed. The postoperative course was uneventful. At 10-month follow-up, osseous consolidation was achieved and the patient was pain-free with normal strength and an unlimited range of motion of both knees.Literature Review: In addition, a review of the literature is performed. To our knowledge, this is the first case of bilateral simultaneous tibial tubercle avulsion fracture reported in a patient with osteogenesis imperfecta.
