To the Memory of John Pryor, Trauma Surgeon Promoting International Collaboration in Training and Education

International trauma surgery suffered a tragic loss when John Pryor, a trauma surgeon from the Pennsylvania Trauma Center (USA), was killed during his work in Iraq on Christmas Day 2008. John Pryor was well recognized in Europe and had many friends among European trauma surgeons. He was a member of a team actively promoting, and highly devoted to, international collaboration in education and training in trauma management. In this mission, he generously shared his extensive practical experiences in trauma with colleagues all over the world, thereby, contributing to increased survival and reduced suffering for those affected by severe injuries.
