Eruptive vellus hair cysts of the labia majora: Detection of openings of the cysts to the epidermis by dermoscopy

Eruptive vellus hair cysts (EVHC) are clinically characterized by multiple, asymptomatic, small, skin-colored or yellowish papules, with a smooth or centrally umbilicated surface, commonly on the chest or upper extremities [1,2]. EVHC consist histopathologically of epidermoid cysts containing vellus hairs [2]. Recently, a case of EVHC of the labia majora was reported [3]. Here, we report a 70-year-old Japanese woman with EVHC on the labia majora, showing openings of the cysts to the epidermis by dermoscopy.
