Indian government plans biogas for schools

Under a scheme being funded by the Kerala Sustainable Urban Development Project, throughout April 2012 Cotton Hill Government Higher Secondary School for Girls; Government Girls HSS, Pattom; and Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Manacaud, will all have biogas plants built within their schools.Decentralised waste treatment plants will be installed under the development, with the capacity to process 150kg a day, turning it into biogas.At this stage of the project, tenders have been asked to set up the plants. Previously a biogas plant was builtat SMV School and it has been deemed a success.
