Geldof awarded multimillion euro contract with EDF

The work is to replace 18 storage tanks at an electricity power plant in Guadeloupe in the Caribbean.Geldof and sister company G￡tG International in Belgium will build the 18 tanks before they are shipped to Guadeloupe. They will then follow a pre-set route to the power plant. Geldof says this approach removes a number of problems and risks for its client EDF, and guarantees better qualityand a definite delivery time.Initially, however, EDF requested the tanks be constructed on site. But according to Geldof, building the tanks in Belgium allows it to avoid difficult environmental and weather conditions such as high humidity and hurricanes. This approach also increases efficiency on site thanks to improved working conditions with subcontractors and less storage space requirements for raw materials, and limits safety risks on the construction site.
