We were very grateful for the thoughtful insights of both commentators. Both raised interesting theoretical points, whichwe are happy to address below. We suspect that our theoretical convictions are not actually as far away from each other as itmight initially appear, as several primary remarks appear to be based on misunderstandings about the nature of oursuggestions.
