Amersco biomass plant gets final approval

Once completed, the site is expected to create $944 million (?718 million) of energy, water, operations and maintenance savings over nearly 20 years. The project will replace a coal powerhouse and oil-fired boilers, reducing carbonemissions by 100,000 tonnes every yeanThe site will use forest residue and woodchips taken from the local area, and is expected to create about 800 jobs during the construction phase and 25 fulltlme positions when the project is complete.
