Consumers were invited to touch wood flooring surfaces with bare feet and hands when blindfolded. Most were able to consistently distinguish between the properties of different surfaces, with a general preference for the oiled wood finish. This type of testing could improve future product development, sales tactics and point-of-sale product presentations.
