Printing is a highly economic way to produce RFID devices, and UV inks offer the advantages of high solids and rapid cure. UV curable inks were optimised for conductivity and printability in the laboratory then tested on several flexographic presses. A performance close to target was obtained, though printing speed was limited by the need for a high UV dose to cure the opaque ink.
