Pulmonary hypertension in mitochondrial disorders

Hung's article [1] is interesting and evokes a number of comments.Pulmonary hypertension (PH) has been repeatedly reported as a manifestation of a mitochondrial disorder (MID) [1-4]. It may be erroneously regarded as a rare manifestation of a MID because MID patients were not systematically investigated or followed for PH or right-ventricular function and patients with PH were not systematically screened for MID.Since the presented patient had cardiomegaly on echocardiography, it would be interesting to know if this was only due to right ventricular enlargement or if also the left ventricle and the atria were dilated. Was left ventricular function reduced?
