BackgroundSleep deprivation induces hyperalgesia. However, this pronociceptive effect is not reflected at the electrophysiological level, since sleep restricted subjects show amplitude reduction of Laser-evoked Potentials (LEP). We aimed to explore the contribution of habituation to this paradoxical LEP amplitude decline.
