Beekeeping Education in Devon

The position of Education Officer for DBKA was created in March 2009 when it was split from the Examination Officer's job. At the time the national interest in beekeeping was growing beyond all expectations and has continued to grow. The branches were trying to cope with local demand but at County level we were not really aware of the problems nor the needs of those teaching the beginners. At national level help was developing but there was no overall co-ordination. So the first job for the Education Officer was to identify the local situations and needs and then see how the national developments could be utilised.
