AkzoNobel has reported second-quarter net income down 4 year- on-year (YOY), to €301 million ($351 million). EBIT of €461 million declined 6 YOY. Results were impacted by continued weak demand in marine and protective coatings, higher raw material costs, and by planned maintenance turnarounds in industrial chemicals, AkzoNobel says. Sales revenue in the latest quarter was €3.79 billion, an increase of 2 YOY.
