One of my all-time favorite daytrips is to the state farmers' market. Although I grow a lot of vegetables in my garden, I can't stop myself from buying things at nearly every booth I encounter. They always have such a wide variety of fruits and veggies that may not even be in season at my house. Before I lived in the country, I lived in the city and made it a point to purchase most, if not all, of my food from the farmers' market. I think from this time period that I learned to take it for granted that I lived in such close proximity to a local food supply.
