Timely diagnosis and treatment of this disease can help slow its progression, potentially preventing irreversible vision loss. This article reviews the pathophysiology. diagnosis, and management of AMD. Several commonly prescribed systemic medications and supplements are discussed in the context of their potential interaction with the course and treatment of the disease.
