Portugal gets its first fulE-ring high-resolution dedicated PET camera 18 October 2002, Porto, Portugal

High-resolution PET studies can now be carried out in Portugal. On Friday 18 October 2002, the Health Minister of Portugal visited the facilities of a new department within the Hospitais Priva-dos de Portugal (HPP). The department, called "HPP Medicina Molecular" (Molecular Medicine at the HPP), is located in the northern city of Porto and has the privilege of being the first to install a high-resolution full-ring dedicated PET scanner, the GE PET Advance NXi.
