Until recently, ~(18)F-FDG PET/CT had not been widely used in the management of bladder cancer because of renal excretion of ~(18)F-FDG hampers primary tumour visualization. A recent prospective study demonstrated that forced diuresis significantly improved detection of bladder tumours [1]. As 40 % of bladder cancer patients do not respond to neoadjuvant chemotherapy, there is a need to identify them early in the course of treatment [2]. We report the case of a 57-year-old male patient in whom a whole-body ~(18)F-FDG PET/CT acquisition (60 min post injection, a) did not visualize the bladder tumour, whereas diuretic PET/CT performed 60 min after intravenous injection of 20 mg of furosemide and water intake (120 min after ~(18)F-FDG injection, c) clearly depicted a left-sided bladder tumour.
