The aim of the present work was to ascertain, in a two-year field trial, leaf gas exchange, plant water status and radiation use efficiency of giant reed (Arundo donax L.) under different nitrogen fertilization and soil water availability in semi-arid Mediterranean area. Three levels of nitrogen (0, 60 and 120 kg N ha(-1)) and three levels of soil water availability (rainfed, 50% ETm restitution and 100% ETm restitution) were compared.
