Not only is the pace of change in cardiology faster than ever, but the scope of cardiology practice has widened and there are close interactions with other specialities. It is a real challenge to keep up to date with innovation, subspecialty developments in cardiology, rapid progress in basic, clinical and translatipnal research, and new important ESC guidelines! It is essential for the busy clinician to know what may realty change practice, now and in the future, and what may improve current management of patients with cardiovascular disease.
