Oil trends: China: Higher octane gasoline could be available soon

A limited number of retail outlets in Shanghai may be supplied higher octane gasoline, to meet the higher octane requirements of luxury cars, according to Sinopec. Currently 90 octane gasoline is sold in mainland China but 98 octane gasoline is sold in limited outlets in Shenzhen in southern China. Either Shanghai Petrochemical or Gaoqiao Petrochemical will produce the 98 octane fuel.
