In a survey conducted in February and April 2007 in Germany, Greenpeace reported consumers' overwhelming distaste for the presence of pesticides in their food. "We found that over 70 percent of consumers believed there should be no pesticide residuesin fruit and vegetables," says Manfred Krautter, a chemicals expert for Greenpeace, working on the organisation's pesticides campaign. "A mere two per cent did not consider pesticide residues to be a problem."
